Wind.—Gale between north-east, north, and west after 12 houis at ail place., northward Of 'East Cape, Tau.po and Cape Egmont; strong between- north-west and south-west thence southward to Napier; gale from the same, direction at other pla.es. Barometer.—Further fall everywhere, but rising at places southward of Oamaru and Queen-town* after 12 hours. Sea.--Considerable on Western Coast; heavy on Eastern Coast between Castlepoint -: and Kaikoura; moderate elsewhere. Tides.—High on Western Coast north of Cape Egmont; poor thence southward; good on Eastern Coast south of Castlepoint; moderate elsewhere. Rain may be expected westward of Tauranga, Taupo and Napier. Warning signals for northerly gales are exhibited at Capes Maria, Campbell, Foul wind, Farewell Spit, and Tiritiri, and for westerly gales at Nugget Point, . Synopsis of the last 24 hours.—Rising barometer, with moderate northerly wind at all places northward of Napier and New Plymouth; falling barometer, with strong northerly winds, at other places. Generally the. weather has " been fine everywhere. Low pressure from the west is due at the meridian of South Cape on the 14th instant, and evidences of these being a low pressure in the Tasman Sea continue.
