Another advance took place to-day in Bunker's Hills. The market opened with sales at 7/2, but by noon transactions were reported at 7/3, with buyers left at 7/5, and sellers quoting at 7/7. Hauraki Freeholds changed hands at 1/1, and Welcome Jacks were sold and still wanted at 3d. Waini Extendeds were sold at 1/6, at which price more could have been placed. Crowns had buyers at 12/, and Talismans at 17/, but no sales were reported. Inquiry also set- in to-day for Woodstocks at 3/9. Thames stocks were without demand. In standard lines a I sale of South British Insurance was reported at 92/ ex dtLv., and New Zealands were wanted at 78/. Westport Coal shares were firmer to-day, the buying price advancing to £5 7/6. Northern Steam paid-up shares were also wanted at an advance, and buyers came in for Tonson Garlick shares at 18/.
