WIRTHS' CIRCUS.

Despite the unfavourable weather and counter-attractions, Messrs Wirth Bro<»» Circus attracted a good audience w nigtut, when a change of programme wa« made. The pantomime, "Cinderella and the Glass Slipper" was Included in th« programme, and was received with marked approval by those present. The company performed creditably, and the' rich costumes and the decorations in sen eral speak well for the enterprise of the management, who have spared no pain* or expense to make the new piece a sue cess. The story of "Cinderella" was told in detail. The 'ballroom scene, in which nearly one hundred children took part was very realistic, and many of the other scenes met with hearty approval. Miss Pauline Jones was highly successful as Cinderella, and the part of the prince was aptly interpreted by Miss Annie Aldean. Misses May Thomas and Valvod impersonated the proud sisters admirably, and Mr Joe Aldean was well cast as the witch. The members of the company introduced several new acrobatic and tumbling feats, and feats of bare-back riding. The serpent dance on ■horseback by Miss Wirth was especially good. This is the first instance of this dance being given here under such novel conditions, and Miss Wirth met with hearty applause. The other excellent items contributed'by the trained horses continue in popular favour, and altogether the present bill is superior to any. thing yet given 'here by Messrs 'Wirth Bros. The entertainment will be repeated this evening-, and to-morrow afternoon a. matinee performance will be given.;
