LONDON, July 12
Mr. Purness and his friends, who are opposing the Morg-an shipping combine, are taking the Gulf line with an additional 130,000 ordinary shares at par. Mr. Furness recently purchased four of the Clan, not the Glen, liners, for the Halifax-London service. Elder, Dempster & Co. are establishing liners between Mobile and Liverpool in September.
