Wind: Strong to moderate and from between west, south-west, and south in all pans of the country. Barometer: Further rise everywhere. Sea Heavy swell on the Eastern Coast south' of- the East Cape; moderate elseTides: High at Cape Campbell and LytteUon but moderate elsewhere. ' Frost is probable generally. A warning signal for a westerly gale is exhibited at Capo Maria Van Diemen. Synopsis of the last 48 hours: Tnere was a steadily increasing- pressure northward O f the Thames and Manukau, but further fall everywhere else until about 5 p m on Sunday, and since then it Jhas risen steadily. Strong galee from/the southward with rain have been experienced on the Eastern Coast northward of Kaikoura, and a strong westerly wind in mo a parts of the South Island with hail ami snow. Frost has been reported from most places south of Cambridge and Raglan. Low pressure from the west is due at the meridian of the Soutn < :ape on *■ liitl).
