PUBLIC NOTICES. .AUCKLAND CITY TRAMWAYS. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that it is the intention of the Body Corporate called tho Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Auckland, incorporated under the provisions of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1P00" (hereinafter called "the Local Authority") to apply to His Excellency the Governor in Council for an Authorising Order under "The Tramways Act, 1894" (unless forbidden by the Ratepayers in the manner prescribed by the said Act) authorising the extension of the Tramways known as the City of Auckland Tramways to be worked with electric traction by means of the overhead trolley system as the motive power. And further that in the event of such Authorising Order being granted it is the intention of the said Local Authority on the granting of the same (unless forbidden by the Ratepayers as aforesaid) to delegate the authority conferred by such Order to the Company hereinafter named in terms of the powers vested in it by Section 10 of the said Tramways Act. A. The description of the proposed works is an extension from the present terminus of the City of Auckland Tramways at the junction of Jervois Ro-ad and Wallace-street along Jervois Road to Heme Bay Road and an extension from the junction of Hobson-street and Vic-toria-street along Hobson-street to Wel-lesley-street,. with all or any of such extensions as are mentioned in the Schedule hereto as may hereafter be from time to time arranged between the Local Authority and The Auckland Electric Tramways Company Limited. Such extensions to be worked by applied electric power in the samf method as the Tramways now in course of construction by the said Company under and by virtue of a certain Deed of Delegation from the Local I Authority to tho said Company, bearing ; date the 28th June, 1900 (hereinafter called "Deed No. 1") and to be constructed in I'tho manner mentioned in Deed No. 1. ! B. The plans and cross sections showj ing the nature of the work and the lines of construction proposed are deposited fov public inspection in the office of the Local Authority, being- the Municipal Offices of the City of Auckland, corner oi Wellesley-streef East and Coburgstre.eit, in the City of Auckland. C. It is intended that the authority contained in the said Au.LortUng Order shall be delegated by the Locttti Authority to '•The Auckland Electric Tramways Company Limited." D. A general description of the terms and conditions subject to which the delegation Is to be made is at follows:—The Auckland Electric Tramways Company Limited to commence *- s it- construction of the uai'l Tramway Extrusion works and electrical equipment along Jervois Road att.l along Hobson-strett as mentioned in Clause A hereof on or before the first day o' January, 1903, and to complete and hay«! the same epen for traffic on or before the ihirty-iirst day of December, 19t)3, and on failure to do so then the said Company is to be liable to various pains and penalties as more particularly .-stated in the lire-posed DeeJ of Delegation or Agreement hereinafter mentioned. The authority and all powers, rights, and privileges contained In the said delegation of authority shall be made subject to the terms and conditions contained in the proposed IX-cci of Ddoration or Agree- , merit by the Local Authority to the said : Company. Copies of the proposed Deed iof Delegation or Agreement' and of the J proposed Order in Council, together with j copies of the original Order in Council of I thy? twentieth day of April, 1900, empowering the Local Authority to construct tramways with electric traction, and of said Deed No. 1. are deposited and open for public inspection at the Municipal Offices before mentioned. The term of the concession is thirty years from the first day of June, 11)00, being the term mentioned in Deed: Nα. 1,. but-Wlth no aoV ditlonal rental' beyond that of £400 per annum, by the said Deed No. l mentioned. Subject to rate's and taxes, and with a share to the Local Authority of the an- | nual nett prolits of the undertaking j worked together with the undertaking I mentioned in said Deed No. 1 as one undertaking a.i in such Deed No. 1 is provided. AND with liberty to the Local Authority to purchase the undertaking, I together with the undertaking mentioned ;in said Deed No. 1 as one undertaking at the expiration of the said term of thirty , years by valuation without any allowance 1 for goodwill. From the corner of Kyber Pass Road and Grafton Road to and along Grafton Road to the corner of Park Road and to and along Park Road •to the City Boundary. From the corner of Queen-street and Shdrtlanfi-street to and along Shortlandstrqet to its junction with Princes-street and to and along Princes-street to its junction with Waterloo Quadrant and to and along- Water'oo Quadrant to its junction with Symonds-street.
