BUNTLY.
The third of a series of ping-pong tournaments held under the auspices of the Hujitly Rifles took place in the Volunteer Hali on Friday night. After some close and exciting- play the winner was found in Mr B. D-avies, the runner-up being Mr Lee. in the ladles' handicap Mrs P. O'Halloran and Miss Troughear were first and second respectively.
A most enjoyable social given by the ladies was held in the Kimihia School on Friday night, when, with music «ond dancing, a most enjoyable evening was spent. In answer to a circular from Major Loveday, who commands the N.Z. Cadet Corps, the headmaster of the District School is enrolling names of intending recruits for a projected school cadet corps. It is expected that with a few who have just left school and several from adjacent schools a detachment, if not a full company, will be formed.
