CHRISTCHURCH NOTES

(By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.")

CHRISTCHURCH, this day,

Mr . Wigram has been installed Mayor of Christchurch. The proceedings were purely formal.

Two young men who were out shooting rabibits on the Ralcaia river bed found the remains of a man, very much decomposed. The remains were identified as those of John Thompson, who left his home on the morning of March 23rd, and had not since been heard of. Search had been made for him without avail, and it was thought he had left the district. .
