Commons Sir Wilfrid Laurier stated that he was prepared to discuss at the Imperial Conference the "question bf'defence in the spirit of Canada's reply to Mr Chamberlain, but he was not prepared to endorse the policy of a - certain school in England and Canada;^ which wotiid bring' Canada intb' the. vortei\;of /militarism; which was now the blight and curse of Europe. ■-.
