WELLINGTON, this day. Wind-Heavy gale from between north and west and southwest at all places.
Barometer-Fall everywhere. g ea _Very heavy on all western coast. Heavy on east coast south of Napier and north of East Cape; moderate elsewhere. Tides very high on western coast of North Island; high on both coasts of South Island; good on east coast north of East Cape; high thence to Cape Falliser.
Rain will be heavy in all parts of the | country. , Warning signals for westerly gales are i exhibited at Cape Maria and Tintiri, and at Capes Campbell, Foulwmd, and Farewell Spit, and Nugget Point. Synopsis of Last 24 Hours.— Slowly decreasing pressure everywhere until about 3 pm. since which time it has risen: =!owly' everywhere. Pressure has again fallen a little southward of Timaru and Queenstown. Heavy westerly gales, with rain and thunderstorm have bean experienced northward of Foxton, Taupo, and Gisborne; moderate to strong westerly winds generally with rain, elsewhere. Snow has fallen at all high country m the South Island. Low pressure from we~t is approaching the meridian of South Cape.
