GREAT LOSS OF LIFE

NEW YORK, May 13

A naphtha train was shunting at Sheridan, near Pittsburg, when the rear cars telescoped and the switch light ignited the leakage. Successive explosions followed- The flames spread to the suburbs a mile away, enveloping a hotel and mansion. Altogether 20 persons were killed and 200 injured, 150 fatally.
