DEVONPORT.

A meeting of the above Council was held in the Council Cimbers last evenIng, the Mayor (Mr Alison) in the chair. There were also present Messrs M. Niccol, J. A. Walker, W. Handley, and R. Lotran, jun.

Footpaths.—Four applications were received relative to the laying of pntbs and the repairing of paths in Taimii Road, Hastings Road, Rata Roa£, and St. Leo-nnrds-sireet.

Infectious Diseases Hosnital. —It was decided to defer consideration of the establishment of an infectious diseases hos : pital until the rf^eipt of the agreement, of the suh-committee appointed to act re this question. Building Permit. — A building permit was granted Mr Woodforde to erect a house in Huia-street.

Transfer of Council Properly.—Mr E. .T. Benjamin's wrote asking the CouncP to stop Beaconsfield Road for a distance of about 150 feet, as he pointed out that the road was absolutely useless and likely to be so; the concession to be given in consideration that the Council could have the land back at the original price at anytime on giving reasonable notice.—Referred to the S'reets and Works Committee.
