SEVERE THUNDERSTORM.

CAMBRIDGE, this day

For the first time on record the' Cambridge School is closed owing to bad weather. A regular rblizzard prevailed here about 9 a.m.,. witlL frightful thunder and lightning, and haii. A furious gale is blowing. The lightning guards in the Post Office were fused, also the connecting straps. Several of the latter were shot out of their sockets with/ a re-, port like a gun. The office was filled with smoke. Trees have been uprooted all over the district, and telegraph poles, blown down. '• i..-' .... Mr Banks, of Gwyhhelands, had a windmill upset,%and the corners of three stacks blown.out. I expect, to hear of much more damage. ■. ;'• '
