SOCIAL OF WELCOME TO FATHER KEHOE.
There was a large attendance pf the parishioners of the Church of St. John the Baptist in St. Bonaventura's Hall, Parnell, last evening, when a welcome home was accorded Father Kehoe, who has been on a six months' holiday owing to ill-health. Mr E. Ma'iony presided, and among- those present were His Lordship Bishop Lenihan and a number of clergy. The hall was tastefully decorated for the occasion. Mr J. Gleeson read an address of welcome, which was presented by Mr Kilfoyle, an old member of the church, together with a purse of 50 sovereigns. Bishop Lenihan responded on behalf of Father Kehoe, and referred to the serious state of the health of the latter. During the evening a musical programme, carried out under the supervision of Misses Lorfigan and Mulvaney, was given as follows:—Solo, "O Hear the Wild Wind Blow," Mr Bagstraw; solo, "The Silver Rhine," Miss MeCafferry; solos, "O Pray for Me" and "Three Wishes" (encored), Mis 3 Lorrigan; recitation (selected), Mr G-leeson; solo, "The City by the Sea," Miss JenWnson; solo, "Come, Beloved," Mr Beach; duet, "Excelsior," Messrs Bagstraw and Beach.
