The election campaign has commenced. There is much excitement.
A Radical Republican manifesto advocates two years' military service for all, a labourers' accident insurance scheme, an income tax, workmen's superannuation fund, and makes an energetic defence of individual liberty.
M. Mercier was stoned and hurt at an election meeting at Fertenbermard.
