A FINLAND EPISODE.

CHARGE OF COSSACK

SOLDIERS

(Received 9.55 a.m.)

ST. PETERSBURG, April 21

A number of youths who were jeering the police at Helsingfors, in Finland, were brutally charged by the Cossacks and were knouted.

The military injured many women and children, some of whom were crippled.

The crowd refused to disperse until the burgomaster persuaded the Cossacks to withdraw.
