Sheepskins: Strong demand compared with March rates. Merinos,. fine crossbred, are quoted at a farthing: to threeeighths higher; coarse, par to a farthing increase on the opening- days.
Competition was maintained to the end of the Antwerp wool sales. The prices of lambs' and merinos' advanced five to ten centimes. Eight thousand live hundred and five bales of La Plata wool were offered, and 4288 sold. Australian wool wa-i nearly all withdrawn.
Consols, 94J. Copper, 53J. Tin, spot, 131 1; three months, 128. Lead, 111.
Silver, 2/0 1-16. Frozen meat: Cross-bred wethers and maiden ewes, Canterbury 3Sd, Dunedin and Southland 3Jd, North Island 3fd. Lamb, prime Canterbury, 5Jd; fair average (including Dunedin, Southland, Wellington, and secondary Canterbury), 4 g d. New Zealand beef (180 to 220 lbs), fair average quality, ox fores lid, ox hinds River Plate crossbred or merino wethers. 3£d.
