THE PEARLING INDUSTRY.

BRISBANE, April 9

Over six hundred men connected with the pearls-hell and pearling industry have been removed to the new headquarters in Dutch New Guinea. This means a loss to Queensland of £25,000, besides a loss of business to the people of Thtlrsday Island.

MELBOURNE, April 9

In view of the removal of the headquarters of the pearling industry, the Government are making immediate inquiries with a view of seeing how far the circumstances justify action being taken.
