WELLINGTON, Wednesday

A meeting of the Police Provident Itoard was held to-day. The application of Sergeant Murray (Aticklanid) to retire on May 31 was granted, as were those of Sergeant Belly (Christchurcih), OansUublea Joyce (Kaiapoi), Walker (Invereargill), and Salmon (Haweia), to retire on the 12th inst., on account of ill-healtih. They wiJl receive the usual allowances.
