THE QUEENSLAND BUSHRANGERS.
PROOFS OF THE MURDERS
BODIES OF THE VICTIMS BURNED
BRISBANE, April 7,
The police have found Constable Doyle's horse, with a quantity of charred bones, teeth, and buttons in the saddle-bags. The bushrangers (the Keniff brothers) evidently burned the bodies of the victims (Doyle and I>alke, who were pursuing them for horse-stealing) and placed them in the saddle-bags. The horse must have broken away from them. Black trackers traced the tracks of James Keniff, senior, and John and Thomas, who are in custody, to the scene of the murder. It.is supposed that they tried to obliterate their tracks. Jahies Patrick is practically certain that Thomas was present when the crimes were committed.
