CANADIANS' HEROISM.

LONDON, April 7

Captain Ross, of the Canadian Scouts, captured 12 Boers at South Frankfort.

Mr Chamberlain has congratulated Canada on the heroism displayed by the Canadian Rifles in the recent engagement in Western Transvaal. He also expressed grief at their losses and heartfelt sympathy with the relatives of the slain.
