ST. DAVID'S CHURCH.
Special dedication services were held at St. David's Church, Khyber Pass, 'to celebrate the re*<*pe_ri_g of the church on its new site. In the morning the minister of the church, the Rev. W. Gray Dixon, preached from the text "Des_-cy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up" (J*ohn ii. 19). The preacher instituted a comparison between the temple of olden days and ithe church of the present, and followed this up by' showing that God consummates His work through catastrophe. The Church lived by death. Christ was the shrine of God in heaven, and the Church His shrine on earth. The only adequate shrine of Deity on earth was the personality of man, and he urged them to avoid all profanation of the temple, and reverence each individual as ithe shrine of God. At the close of the sermon, the communion service was conducted by the pastor, assisted by the Rev. G. M. Macdonald, M.A. B.Sc. During the service -Mr William Anderson, church elder, performed the ceremony of unveiling a tablet erected in memory of the Rev. T. McKenzie Eraser, the'first inducted minister of St. David's Church. The tablet, erected on the northern side of the church, is of veined marble, on a black background, and bears the inscription:—"ln loving memory of the Rev. Thomas McKenzie Fraser, minister of this church, 1881-1885: Born, July 10, 1822; died, August 10, ISSS. An accomplished scholar, able and eloquent, preacher, and faithful pastor. 'He being dead yet speaketh." The afternoon service was conducted by the Rev. )G. B. Monro, and the evening service by the Rev. Hugh j Kelly, M.A. % '■~
