A HUNGARIAN OPINION.
WANGANUI, this day
A local resident has received a letter from Professor Vambery, of the Buda Pesth University, in reply to sympathetic remarks upon the enunciation of the Hungarian Premier in regard to Britain's work in South Africa. After speaking at the reasons for friendliness of Hungary to Britain, Professor Vanbery says: — "The behaviour of Coniinc-Jtal Europe to-day England is the outcome of unqualifiable wickedness and stupidity The unfortunate masses, led by selfish patrons of medieval darkness, will deeply> regret when they learn they have given assistance in pulling doA'ii the glorious rampart of liberty, and that they helped to extinguish the #oblest light mankind has ever produced. We all hope they will not succeed in their diabolical work. England will issue victorious out of the present struggle, and I trust the colonies will not forget that any harm dons to the fountain of their political existence must bring ruin to themselves."
