THAMES, this day.' t ST. PATRICK'S DAT. To-day was only observed as a partial holiday. There was a good attendance at St. Joseph's Convent School fete, Parawai,where a sports and picnic programme is being gone on with. 'The Naval Band is in attendance. ■ A' large number of excursionists left for the Ngaruawahia Be-, gatta and Paeroa races to-day, the trains being well filled. NINTH CONTINGENT. Many Thames residents who have relatives going to the front with the Ninth Contingent journeyed to Auckland this morning to pay a las: v:si; to the camp before the departure of t^e soldiers. ACADEMY OP MUSIC. The case Thames Borough Council v. o-wners of. the Academy of Music will b9 proceeded with to-morrow. The Council has decided that the Academy must either be removed or re-built, and served notice on the Campbell-Ehrenfried Company a3 lessees. The company denied that they were responsible, and stated that the owner was Mrs Howard.' The local body* after consultation with its solicitor, der cided to make the owner, the lessees, ana sub-lessee parties to the suit.
