DUNEDIN, Monday. A EEP. CRICKETER.
Mr Charles Bush, a member of the Southland cricket team, which was defeated by Otago to-day, is about to settle again in Wellington. Mr Bush has the unique distinction of having represented Wellington, Canterbury, and Southland on the football field, and last season he captained the Canterbury rep. fifteen who carried everything before them. A SCENE IN CHURCH. A painful scene occurred prior to the commencement of service in the Balclutha Presbyterian church yesterday morning, when a female worshipper attacked a gentleman with her finger nails and his; brother with an umbrella. The female assailant was escorted away, and many worshippers also left the church. PLAGUE PRECAUTIONS. Dr. Ogston, district health officer, has received a communication from Wellington respecting the recrudescence of plague in xUistralia, and requesting that precautionary measures be taken in Otago. The Doctor had an interview with the Mayor, who has called a conference of all suburban Mayors for Friday evening at the Town Hall, when the questions 'of plague precautions, a
morgue, and an infectious diseases home, will be discussed.
