CRICKET IN AUSTRALIA.
INTERSTATE MATCH

SYDNEY, January 27
A fierce southerly gale blew all day, and rain fell early in the morning, but cleared before noon. The wicket was sticky for the interstate cricket, match. The A'ictorians in their first innings made 152^—Worrall 24, McMichael 13,McAlister 5, Stuckey 11, Layer 27, Warne 9, McCormack (not out) 3:3, Carlton 0, Hastings 11, Collins 3, Saunders 9, extras 9. Kermode took four wickets for 49, McBeth three for 39, Clarke two fi*1 14, Colter none for 1-0, Hopkins none for 31. The New South Wales team in their second inning-s have lost five wickets for 116—Hopkins 0, Poidevin 9, Gregory 27, Pike 8, Farquhar 40. Meares (not out) 11, Kermoue (not out) 4, extras 17.
A cricket match will be played at Pukekohe to-morrow between a team from Ppkeno and a team from the Parnell Cricket Club. The following will represent Parnell:—A. Brown, H. E. Daley, W. J. Dinnison, T. Elliott, E. J. Gatland, J. Gavin. H. I. Lynch. F. Murray, F. A. McNeill, A. J. Shepherd, W. Thorpe. A practice match will be played on the Ponsonby ground to-morrow, play commencing at 2 o'clock. Teams will be picked by the captain and vice-captain. All members are requested to attend. The annual match between Pakuranga and Arch Hill will bo played to-morrow at Pakuranga. Arch Hill will be picked from the following:—Clark, Archer, Jouning, Jenkin, Colgan, Bain, Hawkins, Arblaster, Bow, Murray, Harvey, Thompson and Buckland. Wanderers v. Omaha (at North Shore). —Wanderers: Wakely, Hobson, Freeman, Williamson, Mills Bros., Cook, Carson, Resteaux, Somerville, Burfoot.
