A claim for compensation under the Workers' Compensation ijor Accidents Act has been lodged by James Dickey, of Te Puke, with the Clerk oi Awards, Mr R. G. Thomas, for reference to the Arbitration Court. Claimant in the statement of his claim alleges that whilst working for the New Zealand Crown Mines Compauy in tightening the machinery attached to the stampers at the battery a mixture of grease and fine steel splashed from the keyway of the camshaft into his right eye, thereby causing the loss of sight in that eye. In compensation Dickey claims the sum of 12/ per week during the period of his incapacity.
