THE MANAPOURI.
The s.s. Manapouri arrived from Sydney and the Islands yesterday afternoon and berthed at Queen-street Wharf. The purser, Mr H. V. Austin, reports:—The Manapouri left Sydney at 8 a.m. on the 17th ult., and arrived at Suva at 1 p.m. on the 23rd, where she was quarantined until the 2Sth. Left Suva at 7 p.m. the same date, and anchored in Apia Harbour at daylight on the 31st. Left the same afternoon, and arrived at Vavau at 11 a.m. on the Ist inst. Left again the next morning, and communicated at Haabai the same afternoon, and berthed alongside Nukualofa Wharf at 7 a.m. on the 3rd. Left again at 3.30 p.m., and anchored in Auckland Harbour at 3 p.m. yesterday. Experienced north to northeast winds and smooth seas on the run between Sydney and Suva; had fine weather in the Islands, and on the passage to Auckland met with light variable winds and smooth seas until Monday last, when the wind freshened from the westward, and continued steady until approaching the New Zealand coast. The Manapouri leaves for the Islands on Wednesday next.
