SYDNEY, this day
The Cape cable authorities notify that they open traffic from to-day. Rates to Great Britain and other countries will remain as heretofore. Those to South Africa are materially reduced.
ADELAIDE, Thursday.
The Eastern Extension Company have arranged a direct cable service for press messages between Australia and South Africa. The terms will be available in a few days.
