MEETINGS, ENTERTAINMENTS, ETC.
A, very pleasant evening was spent last night under the auspices of the Auckland Unitarian Church, in the Wesley Hall. The pastor, the Rev. W. Jellie, 8.A., occupied the chair. The following vocal and instrumental items were successfully rendered: Songs, "Unconquered," Mr. W. Gribble; "Venetian Boat Song," Mrs. J. Read; "Asleep in the Deep," Mr. Jaggs; "O Promise Me," Mrs. T. T. White; piano solos, "La Serenata" and "Aufschwung," Miss Judson; orchestral and operatic selections, Meredith's string band; violin solo, Mr. T. Read. Refreshments were handed round during the evening.
A capital entertainment was held in the Primitive Methodist Church, Waterview, ogi Weo\<iesdny evening. The Rev. W. S. Potter occupied the chair, and gave two humorous readings. Miss Elling gave a recitation, and vocal and in(strumenltal items were given by the Misses Herbert, Jackson, Kelly, Wilson, and Muir. Mr Gladding contributed two songs, which were enthusiastically encored.
