Lady Dudley has made a special appeal for the sick and wounded officers' and nurses' fund. Out of a total of about £37,000 already collected some £33,000 have beeu expended.

Surgeon Bobardt, of the training ship Britannia, complains as the result of experience in the concentration camps of South Africa that the camps are inadequately guarded, and that escapes of surrenderee are frequent.
