WHANGAREI LAND VALUES.

WHANGAREI, this.yday. . With reference to the inquiry as to borough valuation, the following wire was received from the ValuerGeneral:—"Has the Borough Council any fault to find with the valuation recently made, or the conduct of the officers making the valuation, either during the progress or before the sitting of the Assessment Court?" A reply was sent that at a hastily convened meeting of the Borough Council, one member being absent, it was resolved: "That, without committing' ourselves to a single valuation tfee Council accepts the roll. Regarding the cbndnct of the valuation officers the Council considers the roll was conscientiously made, and no improper conduct is attributed to them. lThe\ Council does not consider ..the valuation of Mr Thompson's property exceptionally high."
