LABOUR QUESTIONS.
TIMAEU, this day
A meeting of trades unions delegates on Saturday night, held to consider the formation of a South Canterbury Trades and Laboxu* Council, adjourned for a month as several delegates had not received authority from their headquarters at Christchurch. The meeting then passed a resolution asking the Minister of Labour not to delete the clause in the Factories Bill regulating hours of labour and overtime. Special reference was made to fellmongers and allied trades, and to the refusal of the Arbitration Court in Christehurch to make an award.
