RETURNED TROOPERS.

'THAMES, Saturday.
The public reception to Troopers Taylor, Dunn and Gordon took pla«e this evening. The men were greeted at the railway station by the Mayor and Borough Council, and thence •were conducted to a carriage outside the station. Tie local volunteers were here drawn up, and a procession was formed, with the Naval Band and Thames Eifle-s in the lead. At the Exchange corner Mayor Trembatli called for three cheers for the King and the Empire, which were heartily given. The Mayor then welcomed the me.n back in an appropriate speech. The troopers were then cheered, and each returned thanks for the welcome. The procession then marched to Richmond-street and back to Marystreet, where after cheers for the Mayor and Councillors the gathering hroke xvp.
Bombardier Bray and Trooper Mcleod. ex-members of the Onehunga Fire Brigade, were entertained by that body on Saturday night in the fire brigade shed. The reception ot the volunteers by their former comrades was a most enthusiastic one.
