LONDON, August 17, The Pacific Cable Bill was read ft
third time in the House of Lords
Sir Michael Hicks-Beach explained in the House of Commons that the first instalment of the cable contract fell due to be paid before he would be able to submit it to Parliament, owing to the congestion in the business of the session.
