Mutton: Cross-bred wethers, maiden ewes (Canterbury), unchanged; Dunedin and Southland, 3 7-1 Gd; NorthIsland, 3^d. Lamb: Prime Canterbury, 4#d; fair average (including Dunedin, Southland, Wellington and secondary Canterbury), 4|. I 'River Plate crass - bred or merino wethers, heavy. 2 15-16G; light, 2§d. New Zealand Beef: 180 to 2201b5, fair average quality, ox fores, 2Jd; ox hinds, 3|d. At the weekly sales of rabbit skins a 'large supply of better sorts was sold at late rates. Common skins declined a halfpenny "to 2d per pound. New Zealand Hemp: Firm; good Wellington August shipment, £25 10/; October shipment, £25. Wheat: The Euterpe's cargo sold at 23/6.
