BOROUGH MEETINGS.

GEE^ LYNN.

The Grey Lynn Borough Council met last evening. Present—Councillors A. Donald, J. Poster, W. White, R. Hall, R. C. Foster, A. Parker, C. McMaster, T. Booth, and J. Rosser. In the absence of the Mayor through illness Mr. Donald, senior Councillor, was voted to the chair.

Drainage.—Mr. H. Oram wrote domplaining of a nuisance in Crummer Road caused by want of drainage of a neighbour. It was resolved that if the nuisance be not abated within seven days legal proceedings would be taken.

Footpaths.—Mr. Evans asked for footpaths to houses erected by him in Rose Road and Williamson's Avenue. Mr. Wallford drew attention to the state of Great North Road in front of his shop. R. Olliver asked to have a orossing at the corner of Murdoch Road to Leighton-street. It was resolved to attend to the matter. Mrs. McKean drew attention to the very bad state of Pollen-street just in front of her property. These cases were referred to the Streets Committee. F. Goller wrote asking for some attention to Richmond Hill channel and footpath. It was resolved thai the work be done. J. K. Parker asked that the footpath be repaired near his houses in Crummer Road. Referred to Streets Committee, with power to act. Accounts to the extent of £148 12/ Mvere ordered to be paid.

Cox's Creek Bridge.—lt was resolved to draw the City Council's attention to the dangerous state of Cox's Creek bridge.

Finance Committee. — Cr. Hall (chairman) reported: Re accident insurance, that the tender of the New Zealand Accident Insurance Company be accepted for insurance of borough Workmen, and that a policy be taken out accordingly. The committee also reported that specifications are about completed for.Renders for supply of scoria, metal, etc., and also the sanitary contract.
