FAREWELL TO REV. DEWDNEY.
Last night a public meeting was held at tlie Thames to bid Farewell and make a presentation to Rev. A. Dewdney, of the Baptist and Congregational Church, on his transfer to Wanganui. Mr C. J. Brown presided, and there was a large attendance of parishioners. Apologies were received from Revs. A. IT. Collins (President Baptist Union), J. Clark (Auckland Tabernacle), and A. D. Thomson (Thames Presbyterian). Addresses were given by Keys. I>. J. Murray (Wesleyan), E. Drake (Primitive Methodist), and W. Perry (Waihi Baptist). Mr W. TT. Newton presented an illuminated address expressive of the congregation's regret at Mr Dewdney'! departure, and from the Sunday-school teachers a set of the Key. I 15- Meyers books, presented by Mr James *™^.Jtr£u S": y S^iai X: and solos were rendered during the evenm , and the proceedings terminated with a coffee supper.
