TEACHERS' DEFENCE FUND.

WELLINGTON, Sunday.
_At the annual meeting of the Wellington branch of the New Zealand Educational Institute, it was decided that members of the branch should! cease to contribute to the local defence fund. The mover of this resolution pointed out that the central institute now had control of £500 for defence purposes, and there was every probability that the central defence fund would in a very short time amount to £1000.
