WELLINGTON, this day.
Wind: Gale from between north-east and Bouth-east soou at all places northward of Thames and Manukau, extending thence southward after 10 hours to Bast Cape, Taupo.and Raglan; after 20 hours to places on the East Coast between East Cape and Kepler; moderate to strong northerly winds elsewhere. Barometer: Fall everywhere. Sea- Heavy on Eastern Coast north or East Cape; considerable thence southward to Castlepoint; moderate elsewhere. Tides- High on Eastern Coast north or Easi Cape: good thence to Castlepoint; moderate thence southward; low on western Coast of North Island; moderate at all other ports. . Rain will be heavy northward of East Cape, Taupo, and Raglan, and is probable In other parts of the North Island. Warning signals for easterly gales are exhibited at Cape Maria Van Dlemen and Tirltlri. , , Synopsis of the last 48 hours: Slowly Increasing pressure southward of Napier and New Plymouth, but it rose fast In the north during Sunday, and has fallen again everywhere since about midnight. Moderate to strong easterly winds have been prevalent, and the weather has been generally fine. There have been sharp frosts In most parts of Otago. Pressure is low at about 250 miles to N.W. by N. from North Cape, and is travelling towards the southeast.
