The Tartar inhabitants of. the village of Irbejjlt on the rirer Yenisei, had for a long time made themselves a nuisance to the people of the neighbouring district. The Utter finally lost their patience, and, arming themselves with huge sticks, axes.farro Ittptoments, and weapons of n similar character, they proceeded to avenge themjei'yes on the Tartars of Irbelsk. They wa<tWd the whole population of Irbelsk, me n, women, and children alike, and tbrew tM bodies into the Yenisei. Afterwards they demolished the entire village, md burnt all the wreckage.
