LONDON, July 22. The Appellate Conference has closed. Mr Justice Hodges, of Victoria, the Australian delegate, was virtually unsupported. He made a separate report. The other colonies are content with the existing procedure, except that each group desires one or more representatives on the Judicial Committee.
[Canada, Newfoundland, Australia, New Zealand, Cape of Good Hope, Natal, India, and the Crown Colonies were represented at the conference, the subject for the consideration of which was "the constitution ox theiinal court of colonial appeal." The result has been much what was expected.it being anticipated that only Australia would be likely to istaud out for any radical alteration of procedure. New Zealand was represented by olr James l'rendergast, late Chief Justice,.|
