AUSTRALIA AND THE NEW HEBRIDES.

MELBOURNE, this day.
Dr. Paton, the New Hebrides missionary, who has just arrived from England, interviewed Mr Barton, the Commonwealth Premier, and voiced his fears with reference to France's sending a large number of convicts to the New Hebrides. Mr Bart<pn reiterated his assurance that a watchful eye was being kept on all matters pertaining to the South Seas, and quietened Dr. Paton's fears with regard to importation of convicts.
