WAIKATO MARKETS.
Mr Hunter reports at his dairy cow sale held at Te Awamutu on Thursday July 18th, although n very wet d=.y there waa a large attendance of buyers from Wairangi. Thames, Waiuku. and "all local districts. Over the advertised number of cows were yardjd. Fully 200 were submitted, and all sold with exception of four head. Competition was brisk from start to finish, the pale being all finished by 3 o'clock. Pri ces were as follows—Good cows from £6 5/ to £8 15/; ordinary cotvs and aged, from £5 2/fi to £6; springing: heffers, £4 10/ to £6; spring carts, '£i 65/ and £11 10/; cows, 26/ to 29/.
At Ohaupo on Friday about 500 cows were yarded, and there was a large attendance of buyers. The following- are the quotations:—Extra *jood eows|, to calve early, from £7 to £9 5/, a large number selling at an average of £8; ordinary cows, coming to profit in Aug & Sept., from £5 to £6 5/; well grown 3 year old heifers, £6 to £7 5/; well bred 2 year old heifers, £4 10/ to £6 5/; smaJl heifers, from £3 10/ to £4 10/.
