THE MINERS' DISPUTE.
AWARD DECLINED BY COfiOMANDEL AND WAIHI.

COROMANDEL, Monday
A meeting of the. Coromandel branch of the Miners' Union was held on Saturday evening. A resolution was unanimously carried declining to accept the award of the Conciliation Board, and on a ballot being taken the meeting expressed itself in favour of the dispute being referred to the Arbitration Court. The voting was ■12 for referring to the Arbitration Court, one against, and two informal. There were 40 members present.

WATIIT, Monday
The Miners' Union ballot re sending the dispute before the Arbitration Court closed this evening at 6, with the following result:—For, 290; against, 20. Mr J. Live.sey acted as returning officer. Owing to the terrible state of the weather many did not record their votes.
