Constant skirmishes are taking nlace in the Midland districts of Cape Colony. The Boers invariably retreat jvith some loss.
Colonel Heckman has warned the Somerset East residents that "sitting pu the fence" will not be permitted. Jfliose passively allowing the seizure Bf their property will not be compensated.
