RIFLE SHOOTING AT PAEROA

The annual shooting- competition for the handsome Bradford .memorial belt, presented to the Ohinemun No. 1 Corps last year "by Mr Porritt, took place at the Paeroa- rifle range on Saturday afternoon, and after an exciting contest resulted in a win lor Private McArthur, who beat bergt. Kenny by one point. Tlu> weather was most unfavourable, being showery and squally, especially at the last range—7oo yards—and the firing at this was completed in semi-darkness. Lieut. Nathan was in charge. Ine conditions were seven shots.at 300 yds, 50Oyds, and 700 yds. with two optional sighters at each range. The possible at each range was 28. The following wprp thp scKDres: —
