THE CORONATION OATH
COMMITTEE REPORT
MODIFICATIONS RECOMMENDED
(Received 5.45 a.m.)
LONDON, June 30
The House of Lords select committee appointed to consider the Coronation Oath has furnished its report. The committee suggests modification of the oath, aud recommends that the King merely express disbelief in the doctrine of transubstantiation,' in invocation or adoration of the Virgin Mary, and in the sacrifice of the mass, as practised by the Church of Rome, as being contrary to the Protestant religion.
