GUSHING LOVE LETTERS FROM
VERY YOUNG MEN.
Love letters were the order of the day lately in Mr Justice Ridley's court in tha King's Bench, and in th* Court of the Sheriff of London.
The letters that the King's Bench jury 'had to consider were those of Sidney H«rbert England, a clerk in the General JPoat Office, to Miss Jane Ann Grifiiths, th» daughter of a Gloucestershire farmer, Srho is a hospital nurse.

By 1897, he addres*ed her as "My dearest Taffy," aud by onidsummw he had reached "My own darling Jane," with four or five crosses ■a.t the end o* the letter. In 1898 he formally proposed, and she accepted.
Then he launched out into "My very 4e*re#t Anna," and "Your ever true and •wr devoted sweetheart, Sidney," and Jlft-Bristol drapery for tbe London Post Office, There he found that he wanted to ijoncehtrate his attention for four or five >*«ra on study, and while promising to »»arry In the distant future if she waa •«« unwed, he suggested that Miss Grif■ itfca ahouid not neglect her own interWhen Miss Griffiths sued for breach ol JPOfnJse, Mr England pleaded that he *f»var did promise, or that if he did the WPUUae was mutually rescinded.
