THE OPHIR.

The Royal yacht Ophir was thrown open to the public for inspection today, and many thousands of persons went through to Lyttelton to see her.

CHRISTCHURCH, this day,

Mr George Grey, chief engineer of Ithe Ophir, was presented by the New Zealand Marine Engineers Institute with the gold badge of that institution. Afterwards the engineers of the Ophir were taken into the country on an enjoyable excursion.
